Purpose for the scholarship
To support the professional development of individuals engaged in the undergraduate study of health information technology or health information management.

Requirements to qualify?
Applicants must be active student members of AHIMA with TxHIMA membership; student must be a resident of the state of Texas (minimum of one year); student must be a citizen of the U.S. or hold permanent resident status in the U.S; student must have a major of Health Information Administration or Technology and a minimum GPA of 3.5 (on a 4.00 scale).

Selection criteria among applicants
Nominations are solicited from the Program Directors of each Texas school and voted on by the TxHIMA Board of Directors.
